Who can apply for a Bank of Melbourne Fixed Term Deposit Account
  • You must be a permanent Australian resident.
  • If you are less than 14 years old please contact us on 13 22 66 or visit any branch to proceed with your application.
  • Either Single or Joint personal customers may apply.
  • The online Fixed Term Deposit is for personal customers only
  • Business Customers who would like a Bank of Melbourne Fixed Term Deposit Account please contact Business Direct on 1300 781 605 8am - 6pm (AEST), Monday to Friday or visit any branch

For New Customers - Tax File Number (TFN) requirements

  • You are not required to provide your TFN, however if you elect not to provide these details, Bank of Melbourne is required to collect withholding tax on the interest you earn.
  • Please note, if you do not have your TFN or exemption details with you, you can complete the application and provide your details at a later time, by simply calling 13 22 66 or visiting your nearest Bank of Melbourne branch.

For Existing Customers

  • If you are an existing registered Internet & Phone Banking user, you may pre populate your application form with your details, by simply entering your Internet Banking log on details.
  • If your personal details have changed, please contact us on 13 22 66 or visit your nearest Bank of Melbourne branch to update your details.
Here's what to expect
  • Once your application has been successfully submitted, you’ll receive an automatic email (to the email address you have provided) containing your application number and next steps.
  • Once the account is open, another email will be sent outlining the steps on how to obtain the BPAY Biller Code and Customer Reference Number so you can deposit funds into your new account.
  • If you aren’t an existing Bank of Melbourne customer, you will need to complete an identification check at a Bank of Melbourne branch to begin making withdrawals or deposits.
  • If you leave your online application for more than 15 minutes it will expire and you will have to restart your application.
  • If you wish to print out any or all of your details prior to submitting your online application you will need to have a printer attached to your computer.
